During the launch of the OPD services, Dr. Ramneek Mahajan, Senior Director, Orthopaedics and Head Joint Reconstruction (Hip & Knee) Unit, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital Saket said, “With advancements in the field of science and technology, advanced procedures like Robotic joint replacement surgeries are taking over the old and conventional method of surgeries. Our Initial experience with robotic surgery for total knee replacement and hip replacement has been transformative, in other words, the robotic systems have been able to allow a higher accuracy placement of implants, reduce bone cuts, better soft tissue protection, less blood loss, less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery and long-term durability of the implant. Robotic surgery preserves all the natural structures of the joint (less tissue damage), ensures minimal pain and early recovery, it is not expensive.”

Dr. Abhinav Kumar, Consultant, Orthopaedics, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket said “Through this opportunity, we hope to spread awareness about the importance of early detection in orthopedic diseases especially during winters, as joint pains are often neglected by people until it causes distress. We would like to take this opportunity to sensitize society about the increasing orthopedic problems in India. Today’s generation leads a sedentary lifestyle - long hours are spent sitting in the same position, mostly in a wrong posture, at workplaces. In addition, late night shifts, smoking, long hours in front of the computer and irregular eating habits are making orthopedic problems a lifestyle disease.”

Dr Aditya Kumar Singh, Associate Director, Unit Head CTVS, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket said “Through the launch of these OPD services, our purpose is to give the best possible cardiac treatment to all such patients across Meerut. With recent advancements made in the field of cardiac surgeries, there have been substantial transformations brought in the treatment modalities with minimally invasive cardiac surgeries paving the way for faster recovery, minimal blood loss, less hospital stay, and more importantly improved quality of life post-operation. With such technology available, there is a dire need to raise awareness among the masses to first adapt to a heart-healthy lifestyle and not to hesitate or delay any of the symptoms, since timely intervention can not only save lives but also improve the quality of life.”

Dr Kamran Ali, Principal Consultant, Thoracic Surgery, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket said “Making rapid evolution in the last few years, the robotic technique in thoracic surgeries have progressively become widespread, particularly for the treatment of the mediastinal and pulmonary lesions. For patients afflicted with any complication in the Chest and Pulmonary system, the developments made in this field have better outcomes in intraoperative and postoperative results. In comparison to open surgeries done in the past, advanced thoracic robotic surgeries have paved the way to safety and improved quality of life even in the most complex cases. There has been an increase in the number of patients with end-stage pulmonary diseases in the past few years, requiring a lung transplant.
